Mission Trips Past & Present
Summer 2016 Mission Trip
June 26-July 3 eighteen youth and adults from NECC and YMEN/PEARL participated in a mission trip to Nicaragua.
In the past, Naperville Covenant has had over 70 people volunteer a week of their summer to serve in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina in a church-wide mission trip, 74 people who participate in a mission trip in Chicago (The Windy City Project, 2011) doing construction at Cornerstone Community Outreach, Leland House and Tapestry Fellowship in Chicago and Bridge Communities in Naperville.
Summer 2014 Mission Trips
Around 75 persons participated in the Windy City Project Two, July 18 – 22. They worked on a number of construction (repair and refurbishing learning centers) at Bridge Communities and YMEN of Chicago. Naperville Covenant also collected more than 100 back packs for school; these were also given to children at Bridge Communities and YMEN.
In the Summer 2013 there were two significant Mission Trips
An intergenerational group of twenty-three youth and adults went on a mission trip to Chemax, in the Yucatan Peninsula, July 20 – 27, where they did a variety of construction projects, Vacation Bible School, speaking and teaching – mainly building relationships and letting God form their hearts with a deeper compassion for people God loves
Four of our members were in Congo on a “vision trip” June 27 – July 8 where they represented Naperville Covenant in bringing greetings to our 70 sponsored Covenant Kids and their families. The team brought back many memories of the church and the people of Gemena, Congo and the work that is both ongoing and needs to be done. The team found a very spirit-filled people who were proud and faithful Christians.
