2016 Summer Mission trip to Nicaragua
Sunday, June 26, we commissioned 11 students and adults from NECC and 7 students and adults from YMEN (Young Men’s Educational Network) from Oak Lawn who participated in a mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua, June 26-July 3, 2016.
Covenant Kids Congo
We are very excited about this main area of our global focus: sponsoring over 80 children in the Equateur province of the Democratic People Republic of Congo “…the most over-looked province in the neediest country of the world.” Joining together with World Vision in an unprecedented partnership provides a “journey to transformation,” in addition to the spiritual work carried out through the congregations of the CEUM – the Covenant Church in Congo. This proven community development model for sustainable long-term solutions is built on World Vision’s 60 years of experience building a better world for children. Naperville Covenant’s relationship has deepened in the last two years as five members have visited with mission teams, met the children, worshiped exuberantly and seen the deep needs. This is a partnership and relationship we will continue to develop. Learn more about Covenant Kids Congo.
Covenant World Mission
Naperville Covenant places a high value in missions and our commitment to the overall ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Over 9% of our giving goes to the ECC – that’s more than $50,000 per year. As that helps fund several aspects of denominational work and missions, nearly 44% of that goes to Covenant World Mission. This is divided between several special interest and short term missionaries around the world whom we support. We have the privilege of building relationships with these people over the years as they communicate regularly with us and often visit the Chicago area when they are on home assignment. Currently we support missionaries working in:
- Southeast Asia
