News and Sermons
Did you know that 6 kilometers (approx. 3.72 miles) is the average distance people in the majority world have to walk for water? Clean water is rare in many communities in the developing world, and it is rare in the community of Gemena, a remote city in the DR Congo where our friends at Covenant Kids Congo operate. Right now, the vast majority of the population of Gemena does not have access to clean water. Covenant Kids Congo powered by World Vision is partnerin with the Covenant Church of Congo (CEUM) and local leaders to expand clean water access in Gemena. Through the Global 6K for Water, you are invited to be a part of this project! Your race registration of $50 provides clean water to one person in Congo for life!
Join us for the Global 6K for Water on Saturday, May 4th right here at Naperville Covenant Church and help us make a greater impact through the clean water projects in Gemena, DR Congo.
Here’s how you can get involved:
RUN/WALK: Join our team and register to walk or run the 6K on Saturday, May 4th at 8:30am right here at Naperville Covenant Church! Our race route will start in the church parking lot and take us on a loop out, down to the DuPage River Trail and then back to the church. 6 kilometers is approximately 3.72 miles. So grab a friend, strap on those running shoes, and REGISTER today! Registration deadline is April 29th.
VOLUNTEER: If you’d prefer to volunteer at the event instead of walking/running the course, we can definitely use your help to make sure the course is safe (and fun!) for everyone involved! Here are a few areas we are in need of volunteers… Setup/Cleanup, Sign-In Table, Crossing Guards, Course Attendants, Water Station Volunteers, Finish Line Helpers. Send us an email (email@example.com) if you’re interested in helping.
DONATE: Of course, the main reason we do this is to help make a difference in the lives of our friends in the DR Congo by raising money for clean water projects. If you’d like to support us, you can click the “Support Us” button HERE. We’d also love to have some food items to provide for our participants and volunteers after the race. We are seeking dontions of these types of items… Bananas/Apples, Bagels/Muffins, Donuts, Granola Bars (no nuts), Fruit Snacks, Water, Gatorade/Sports Drinks, etc.
Lenten sermon series: What Happened on the Cross? For God so Loved the World…
There are several biblical ways in which to understand and explain atonement – the saving work of Christ on the cross. In and through them all God moves toward us in love, so that we might not only be forgiven and reconciled to him as individuals, but that the church might become a community of faith marked by grace, reconciliation and participate in Kingdom work.

5TH ANNUAL GARAGE SALE WITH A PURPOSE:
Redeeming excess in our lives to transform the lives of others
We are so excited to announce that we’ll be doing our Garage Sale with a Purpose for the 5th year in a row!
Whether you’ve been Tidying Up with Marie Kondo and need a place to toss those items that don’t spark joy, or if you’re interested in shopping for items at a good price, this Garage Sale is the event for you. We collect item donations from our community and on our sale day, all the proceeds go towards empowering kids locally and globally. See the following information and FAQ’s:
When is the Garage Sale? Friday, June 28 – 8am-2pm & Saturday, June 29 – 8am-2pm
Why a Garage Sale? There are a lot of ways to raise money, but a garage sale provides the additional incentive of redeeming the excess we all have and putting it to use to help empower others.
What can I donate? Big furniture items, small furniture items, baby stuff and toys, clothing, books, decor items, anything except… NO old TV’s, NO mattresses, NO box springs, NO large household appliances, NO weapons, or anything you can’t donate to a Goodwill or Salvation Army.
When are you taking donations? We will accept donations June 1st – 21st. Bring donations by on a Sunday morning after worship, or Tuesday’s or Thursday’s 12pm-3pm. If these times don’t suit your needs, you can call our church office to setup a different time to drop off items (630)369-2741.
Are you picking up items around the neighborhood again? Yes, we are, but we’ve changed our policy to pickup large items by request only. If you’d like to request a pickup on Sunday, June 21st, please contact us via phone (630)369-2741 or email with your name, address, and a description of your items.
Who benefits from the funds raised at the Garage Sale? All proceeds from Garage Sale will go to empower kids locally and globally:
- Covenant Kids Congo Clean Water Project: In one of the neediest parts of one of the poorest countries, families are receiving clean water that changes their lives.
- Scott Elementary School: We come alongside our local elementary school to help bridge academic gaps in our community, inspiring students to reach their full academic potential.
- Naperville Covenant Camp Fund: We help our kids get to camps and mission trips that help build godly character and compassion for others
